Make It: Marshmallow Pops

I was going to make Halloweenie Pops... little Frankensteins and Draculas... I was going to have a mix of food coloring tinted frosting and all sorts of candy eyes and decorations... but then two things happened: I couldn't find any food coloring other than red (not the most Halloweenish color) and the store didn't have any candy eyes (I think perhaps I'd have to order them online {HERE}).

And then I remembered that my kids are 2 and 4 and they couldn't care less what color frosting they were dipping their marshmallows into and what kind of candy they were sticking all over them... they just wanted marshmallows, frosting and candy. You know what kids are like.

So here you go. The easiest, sugariest little crafty treat, perfect for the 6 and under crowd (but loved by their mothers and fathers... because marshmallows are yummy at any age!)

Materials Needed:
  • Lollipop sticks
  • candy pieces (we used M&Ms and sprinkles)
  • frosting (I bought mine, but if you make your own, make sure it is thick enough to stay on the marshmallow)
  • food coloring
Now, just mix the frosting with the food coloring, stick the marshmallows onto the lollipop sticks. Then, hand on over to the kiddywinks and watch their concentration as they dip and decorate.

When your marshmallow pops are done, you might want to put them in the fridge for about 8-10 minutes so the frosting can set and the candy bits wont just melt off.

Expect a sweet and sticky mess... hurray for bathtubs.

And don't forget to watch over them, so sneaky little fingers don't make off with all the candy toppings.

Enjoy!

xoxo,

  1. Yess! This is so cute! The other day when I was trying to keep Eleanore entertained, I gave her a bowl full of ghost marshmallows, and a lollipop stick, and I taught her how to make ghost-pops, haha. This is much cuter though, we might have a little smores party in a couple weeks, before thanksgiving. Dip the marshmallows in melted chocolate, and gf graham crumbs??? YESSS!!
