Mama Drama Monday: Completely Legal Cloning

You've heard the saying, "you just have one of those faces," well, when you're a parent, it's likely to have been duplicated. And depending on how many times you've uh-hem, "cloned," you could have half a dozen mini-mes running around your household. Not me personally (have you read my posts, I can't hardly handle two!), but you know what I mean.

I've gone out numerous times and had people stare at my child, back at me, then back at my child and exclaimed, "Wow she looks exactly like you!" Yup, as a parent, you are no longer unique, you've cloned yourself and thus been stripped of your individuality. But on the bright side, people will be seeing your face for many many years to come! Oh yeah, I'll still be here long after I'm technically gone. Part of my plan for global domination.... mwahahahahaha...ha.

In this cloning process, I've also noticed some dominant traits. The clones tend to get my eyes and always manage to get their dads Flintstone feet. Which are actually kind of creepy, unless you like the whole opposable thumb toes. I suppose it's better than having toes long enough to tie shoe laces. Um, not that I would know. Don't ask. Anyway, I thought it would be fun to have a "Clone War*," so to speak. Let's see 'em! :o)
*(and if you didn't get the Star Wars reference, I guess I am a nerd.). :oP

  1. Heheheheehhe, love that opposable Flintstone feet... and yeah, you totally have clones running around your house.

But then, you know I do too!

  2. No one can decide who our clones look like. Each side of the family insist both kids look like their side of the family. Ours are more hybrids than clones :)

  3. Dude, Alyssa... your Miss Thang is a complete and total clone of your husband. COMPLETE AND TOTAL.

And I think the little guy looks a lot like you. Just sayin'

  4. I'm pretty sure I have a few little clones running around also but they seem to be a split between the two of us (although SOME people say they look more like daddy, my mother would disagree) Your girls are beautiful! I love the pics!

  5. You'd think so Marisa, but when I was in the hospital after giving birth to Merrick, the nurse who was coming on shift in the OB ward who had seen Dom and Miss Thang in the cafeteria asked me if that was my daughter she'd seen because she looked just like me. There are pics of us at the same age and we look a lot alike...which kind of kills the clone idea! Merrick looks a lot like my brother and like my sister's oldest...but then we were thumbing through old Dom pics and there were some in there that looked a lot like Merrick.

On that note, Annelie looks exactly like YOU.

  6. Ha! No mommy/daddy clones in this family. My Buddy Boy looks just like my dad, and Ladybug - at times - looks so much like my MIL that it sends a shiver down my spine. Both my kiddos have red hair - just like I do, but I'm constantly asked where they get their hair from. What's up with that?!
